HISTORIA The Journey of Ballet Indonesia in collaboration with Jakarta Arts Council Dewan Kesenian Jakarta, proudly presents the first exhibition and dance showcase centered on the momentous events of ballet in Indonesia, "HISTORIA". HISTORIA takes you back into the past—from the birth of ballet in Indonesia in 1845—to the present, narrating Indonesian ballet’s advancements over the past 174 years based on Meutia Chaerani’s research. Other than a 174 years research exhibition, feast your eye in a 60 minutes of unique performances by Ballet Sumber Cipta, Cicilia Ballet, EKI Dance Company, Marlupi Dance Academy, Namarina Youth Dance. Even more, catch a sight of a collaboration performance between West Australian Ballet choreographer and selected Indonesian Youth Ensemble performing a new dance piece. Also, don’t miss out on the performance of West Australian Ballet dancers. See you at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta!
Thisseason they'll be touring to Indonesia, to Semarang and Jakarta, to showcase a cross-section of the ballet repertoire. "Unboxing Ballet", with creations of Ernst Meisner, George Balanchine, Eric Gauthier and Charlotte Edmonds, is sure to delight both die-hard dance fans and first-time audiences. OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS
